CNC lathes are typically used to machine/produce precise circles with an outside diameter (OD) and inside diameter (ID). Depending on the needs of different industries, almost any type of structure can be machined using this machine.

CNC lathes are commonly used in the oil and gas, automotive, aerospace, medical, electronics, mining, power plants, steel, and paper mills, and shipbuilding industries, to name just a few.

Modern CNC lathes are often equipped with life tools that can work on multiple axes. For example, they can contain both X and Y axes, contain a second turret with different tools, or contain a sub/second spindle. These features help to be more efficient and flexible in different milling, drilling, and tapping operations.

The result is a complete and even complex part manufacturing process without the need to transfer the part to another machine for a second operation, for example to a CNC milling machine or a CNC machining center.
